The Walker African-American Museum & Research Center is designed to preserve and promote the history of people of African descent locally, nationally, and internationally. The immediate goal is to build the permanent site of Nevada's only African-American Museum.

This temporary location offers exhibits of books, magazines, dolls, stamps, postcards, trade cards, figurines, statues, sports and political items, newspapers and clippings, signs, church histories, biographies, prints, posters, painting, etc. that document the accomplishments of people of African descent.
