Adirondack Park At 6.1 million acres is the largest U.S. park outside Alaska, occupying most of the interior of the northern third of the state with more acreage than any three national parks. It is a wilderness park and a resort with tumbling rivers, secluded ponds, and the rugged shoreline of Lake Champlain, are full of opportunities for fishing and boating. You'll find cross-country ski trails, crafts fairs and horse shows, scenic roads, communities, and plant life rarely seen south of the tundra.
