Liverpool is located in Onondaga County a suburb of Syracuse along Interstate 90 near Onondaga State Park in the Western Region of the state. On the banks of Onondaga Lake. Liverpool is part of the Syracuse, New York metro area. It was named after the English city and early industries included several salt works and a saw mill.
