Mayville is located in Chautaugua County 27 miles NW of Jamestown between Westfield and Chautaugua along Highway 394 near Lake Erie in the Western Region of the state. Located on the northwest shore of Chautauqua Lake, Mayville began as a portage point between Lake Erie and the Allegheny and Ohio Rivers. Boating, hiking, bicycling and fishing are among the recreational opportunities available nearby. Mayville is part of the Jamestown, New York metro area.
