Blue Ash, which was first settled in 1791, is located in southwestern Ohio in Hamilton County and is a northeastern suburb of Cincinnati located about 10 miles north of the Ohio River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 5,611, a decrease of 98 since 1990.
Although established in the late 18th century, the town didn't officially incorporate until 1954. Initial growth of the area was slow until the railroad (CL&N) made its way through town in the 1880's.
The city is proud of its recreated version of "Crosley Field", the venue first used by the Major League Baseball's "Cincinnati Redlegs" (later "Reds"). In addition, the city boasts the challenging public 18-hole Blue Ash Golf Course, one of the top 75 municipal courses in the U.S. according to Golf Digest, the sport's "bible". Another local attraction is the emotionally moving Blue Ash Bicentennial Veterans Memorial.
