Located within Franklin Park at Broad Street, this 12,500 square foot glass structure, built in 1895, was designed in the style of London's Crystal Palace. Self-guiding tours travel through simulated habitats of the world including a tropical rain forest, the Himalayan Mountains, a desert, a Pacific Island water garden and a tree fern forest. Other exhibits include a bonsai collection, an orchid collection and seasonal displays. The 28-acre botanical gardens include a Japanese garden, an education garden and sculptures and fountains.
Open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm; closed Thanksgiving and December 25.
