Big Walnut Middle School serves students in grades 6-8. It provides a wide range of academic offerings and owns a strong parental support/involvement through an energetic Parent Teacher Organization. It participates in community activities and serves as a location where many parent and community organizations meet. The extracurricular activities include football, cross-country, volleyball, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, track, baseball and softball.
