Lebanon is located in southwestern Ohio in Warren County (which celebrated its Bicentennial in 2003) and is the county seat. It lies on the banks of the Little Miami River about 30 miles north-northwest of Cincinnati and 20 miles south of Dayton. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 5,611, a decrease of 98 since 1990.
The town originally began as a stagecoach stop on the route between then Losantiville (now Cincinnati), and on to Xenia. From there the stage traveled to Columbus, the State Capital.
Golfers have a choice of any combination of three 9-hole layouts at Shaker Run Golf Club, including the Lakeside, the Meadows and the Woodlands courses. In addition, Harmon Golf Club is a 9-hole layout owned semi-privately but with an open guest policy.
Local attractions include the Glendower State Memorial, the Golden Lamb Inn-Shaker Museum, the Warren County Museum and Fort Ancient.
