Sidney

Sidney is located in western Ohio in Shelby County (of which it is the county seat) about 50 miles west-northwest of Columbus and 35 miles north of Dayton on the banks of the Great Miami River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 19,197, an increase of 487 since 1990.

Outdoor recreation usually center around activities at Grand Lake St. Marys and Grand Lake St. Marys State Park about 20 miles northwest of town and Indian Lake and Indian Lake State Park 20 miles to the northeast.

Shelby Oaks Golf Course is made up of three 9-hole courses which can be mixed or matched into three unique 18-hole combinations. The semi-private organization has an open guest policy.
