Sugarcreek is located in northeastern Ohio in Tuscarawas County 30 miles south of Akron and 10 miles west of west of New Philadelphia.
A true melting pot of culture, the town is known for its diverse culture of Swiss, German, Amish and others. The "Ohio Swiss Festival" is held the 4th weekend after Labor Day and presents a slate of Scandinavian activities and performances including the Little Swiss Miss contest, Swiss Cheese Judging, The New Towne Cloggers, Steinstossen (Stone Throwing), Yodeling Contest and Schwingfest (Swiss-Style Wrestling), to name just a few. Festivities begin on a Wednesday evening and continue through Saturday evening. One other noteworthy event is the "Fabulous 50's Fling" car show and cruise in held in June.
