Warren county is located in southwestern Ohio just northeast of Cincinnati and calls Lebanon its county seat. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 153,292, an increase of 39,319 over the 1990 census.
Taken from a part of Hamilton county, Warren county was created as one of 12 original counties in the state about one month after Ohio's statehood in 1803. It was named in honor of Gen. Joseph Warren who was a physician and Major General during the American Revolution.
Outdoor activities often center around 2,800-acre Caesar Creek Lake and Caesar Creek State Park in the northeastern section of the county. Another interesting day trip involves Ft. Ancient and its prehistoric story. The fort is located on a hill about 10 miles east of Lebanon.
