Waurika

Waurika is located in southern Oklahoma in Jefferson County (of which it is the county seat) south of Duncan and west of Ardmore near the intersection of U.S. Highways 70 and 81 on SR 5 about 5 miles southeast of Waurika Lake.

Local attractions include the old Rock Island Depot and the Chisolm Trail Historical Museum.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 1,824, a decrease of 264 since 1990.
