Delaware county is located in northeastern Oklahoma on the Arkansas/Missouri border with Jay serving as the county seat.
The northern section of the county is dominated by beautiful waterways and scenic parks including the Grand Lake O' the Cherokees (which is fed from the north by the Grand (Neosho) River), Bernice State Park and Honey Creek State Park. Moving further south one encounters Lake Eucha, Lake Eucha State Park and a portion of Spavinaw Lake.
Major thoroughfares include the Cherokee Turnpike/U.S. Highway 412 which skirts the southern part of the county.
Historical sites include the Bassett Grove Ceremonial Grounds near Grove, the Hildebrand Mill near Siloam Springs and the Saline Courthouse near Rose.
