This 1837 Georgia-style farmhouse was built by Allen Good, an Irish immigrant. It was home to four consecutive generations of the Good family. They would be renowed for their contributions in Canadian farming, educational accomplishments, and public life. In 1978 the Good family donated the main house, fully furnished with original artifacts, the surrounding outbuildings, 1913 house, and 5 1/2 acres to the Heritage Canada Foundation. The collection is a cross-section of the household items and farming tools which the Good family used over their years on the Myrtleville farmstead as well as some pieces of Anglo-Irish glass, silver and books which they brought with them from County Cork Ireland in 1837, and some pieces of furniture purchased in Montreal.
