Penetanguishene

A quaint town with costumed interpreters telling stories of earlier times. The town gets its name from an Abenaki Indian word meaning, 'place of the rolling white sands.' Visitors can enjoy theater performances, concerts, art galleries, and craft and antique shops. Summertime offers fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, biking, hiking, swimming, and camping. In winter snowmobiling and skiing are available. Maple syrup demonstrations can be seen in the spring.
