Minh Tran and Company’s contemporary movement aesthetic is infused with Eastern philosophy and enriched by Tran’s Vietnamese heritage. Elements from music, visual art, fashion, and tradition collide in Tran’s dances, resulting in a body of work that is at once abstract and emblematic. Tran creates a movement language that is remarkable for its fusion of traditional Asian technique with a contemporary sensibility. It specializes in Southeast Asian dance, and culture and dance training toward performance. It provides an array of residency activities including master classes, workshops and lecture demonstrations emphasizing the technique, style and movement philosophy characteristic of Mr. Tran's repertory.
