Add a bit of history to your school program with a stay at historic Skyliners' Lodge, located along Tumalo Creek in the Deschutes National Forest, 10 miles west of Bend. This log and stone lodge is an excellent base camp for studying forest and stream ecology. The Lava Cast Forest, Newberry National Volcanic Monument, and the High Desert Museum are all nearby to enhance your natural history studies.

The facility is rustic with screened, open air cabins, outhouses, and an impressive stone timber lodge with three massive stone fireplaces. Dining and meeting facilities are in the lodge. The city may be booked from May through October.
