Hood to Coast Relay

Search Portland Oregon

Entries are now being accepted for the 1996 Nationwide Insurance Hood To Coast Relay. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the event, the largest relay in the world. Each year, participants from around the world run the 195-mile course from Mt Hood, elevation 6000 feet, to the beach at Seaside. This year's event takes place August 23-25.

The Hood To Coast Relay typically fills up long before race day, with last year's event reaching capacity in May. Over 100 12-person teams were turned away.

Although there are teams composed of top athletes who can boast of such feats as Olympic placement or sub-four-minute miles, the majority of the field is composed of teams from companies, church groups, and other amateur groups.
