The city of Keizer is located in Marion County, 2 miles north of Salem along Interstate 5 and the banks of the Willamette River. Keizer is approximately 7 square miles, home to over 30,000 residents.

Keizer's first settlers began to arrive in the 1840's. By the mid-1850's 18 families had laid claim to 7,655 acres. Members of two families, the Keizurs and Pughs, had the largest total holdings; 2,415 and 1,912 acres respectively.

Popular attractions in Keizer include: Carlson Skate Park, Keizer Heritage Foundation and the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (minor league baseball).

Keizer is part of the Salem, Oregon metro area.
