Monroe is located south of
Corvallis, and 10 miles north of
Junction City along
Highway 99W. The town is at the southern most boundary of
Benton County.
Area attractions include: Alsea Falls, Marys Peak, Wm. L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge, Peavy Aboretum, McDonald Forest, PAC-10 activities at Oregon State University & University of Oregon, several art galleries, community festivals, summer open-air concerts, year-round performing arts at the Majestic theatre, covered Bridges, historic buildings and wineries.
There is also a Monroe, Louisiana.
