This community was first incorporated in 1893. Today, the city Population is around 3,480.

Local attractions include the Umpqua National Forest, Myrtle Creek Golf Course (beautiful 18 hole course), Hunting and Shooting (elk, bear, deer, grouse, quail, turkey) and Fishing (shad, salmon, steelhead, trout, bass).
