Search Visit Oregon

The 145-mile route begins on Highway 395 south of Lakeview and runs north to Highway 97 near La Pine. The byway offers the traveler diverse opportunities to experience South Central Oregon. It takes the visitor from the east slope of the Cascades into Eastern Oregon's sparsely populated "outback."

In addition to natural geographic wonders, forests and desert lakes, the traveler will see modern ranching, signs of ancient civilizations, and historic routes.

Additional Highways, Byways, and Scenic Drives have been designated official Oregon Scenic Byways.
