Small, friendly, and quirky, Port Orford feels a lot like California’s Big Sur with its awe-inspiring panoramic vistas and active artistic community. Established in 1851, it's the oldest town on the South Coast and the northern gateway to America’s Wild Rivers Coast. The dock is the only open-water port on the Oregon Coast and is one of six “dolly" ports in the world where recreational and commercial fishing boats are hoisted into and out of the water daily. In Port Orford Heads State Park, the historic Lifeboat Station Museum is open to the public.
