The Largest Bookstore in the United States

Search Portland Oregon

The main store takes up an entire city block and the 43,000 square foot building is laid out in such detail that visitors are actually provided with color coded maps. New and used books, English and foreign language, best sellers, and obscure titles are all on sale. The Anne Hughes Coffee Room provides a place to consume coffee or tea and enjoy a snack while reading.

Besides the main store, Powells also operates the Technical Bookstore a few blocks east.
