Seaside was Oregon’s first seashore resort, and it remains one of the coast’s most popular year-round destinations with many attractions. Visitors delight in dozens of specialty shops, art galleries, antique stores, sweet treats, and restaurants that surround the downtown streets where Broadway leads from Hwy 101 to the turnaround in the center of Seaside’s famous Promenade. There a sculpture designates the end of the Lewis and Clark Trail. Families enjoy the Carousel Mall, sand biking, paddleboats, bumper cars and arcade. The Seaside Civic and Convention Center hosts a variety of events throughout the year. Other attractions include the Seaside Museum, Lewis and Clark Salt Cairn, and Seaside Aquarium—the oldest aquarium on the West Coast.
