The Varney Creek Trail winds up the steep slopes of the Varney Creek drainage. Visitors will pass groves of lodgepole pine and meadows before climbing the edge of a large rock scree ridge with amazing views of the wilderness peaks in the north and west.

The Varney Creek Trail is the most popular into the Mountain Lakes Wilderness, so be prepared for some company along the way. Open for hiking and horses.
