Veneta is located in
Lane County, between
Eugene and the coast along
Highway 126. Veneta represents the end of the
Willamette Valley and the start of the
Coast Range Mountains.
The town was named after Veneta Hunter, daughter of the town's founder.
Veneta is part of the Eugene-Springfield, Oregon metro area.
Veneta is a community in an appealing rural recreational setting. Its close proximity to Eugene,Springfield and Fern Ridge Lake makes it an ideal place to reside. Veneta provides a residential center, retail sectors, as well as a light industrial employment base for the entire Fern Ridge area.
The Oregon Country Fair in July is a popular venue for the free spirit.
