Nestled between the ocean and the Siuslaw National Forest, this community of 2,050 is “where the forest meets the sea." Situated on Alsea Bay, fishing, crabbing, and clamming are very popular and the free crabbing dock receives much use. Bridge and nature walks are popular, and Drift Creek Wilderness, a few miles east of Waldport, is accessible to hikers. Points of interest in town include the Waldport Heritage Museum and Alsea Bay Bridge Interpretive Center, also home to the Waldport Chamber of Commerce. A wayside at the south end of town provides beach access.
