Known as "The Gem of the Oregon Coast," Yachats is a village of about 635 people located at the mouth of the Yachats River. Long known as a vacation destination, it draws those who appreciate the area's unique qualities. The Little Log Church and Museum was built more than 60 years ago from donated logs and has been renovated. Residents and summer visitors alike turn out for low-tech fun at the annual La De Da Parade on July 4th. The annual Fish Fry in July coincides with the Yachats Music Festival, a popular three-day series of cameo performances by 20-30 major classical artists. In January, the Yachats Lions Club puts on a tasty crab feed. Folks come from far and near to attend the Original Yachats Arts and Crafts Fair in March, the Village Mushroom Fest in October, and the Celtic Music Celebration in November.
