Lake County

The 8,359 square mile with 7,400 people in it was established in October of 1874 and receives 16 inches of rain a year. The lakes for which is it named are alkali lakes of the Great Basin, such as Summer Lake, Lake Hebert, and Goose Lake, which the county shares with California.
