Gettysburg

Gettysburg is located in Adams County, of which it is the county seat, southwest of York between Chambersburg and the Maryland state line along Highway 30 near Lake Marburg.

A famous attraction is Gettysburg National Military Park, where Abraham Lincoln spoke on November 19, 1863, "That government of the people, by the people, and for the people, shall not perish from the earth." Gettysburg is the crossroads of two national highways, U.S. Route 30 and U.S. Route 15. The Annual Gettysburg Civil War Battle Reenactment takes place each summer, and features major battles, numerous field demonstrations, living history villages, and military camps.

Many guided walking tours are offered of the area, including ghost tours, battlefield tours, and more.
