The sanctuary is primarily for birds of prey. The area covers about 2,400 acres of forested Appalachian mountaintop with bold rock promontories as well as 8 miles of hiking trails. The visitor center contains birds of prey exhibits and a museum. The chief attraction is the hawk and eagle migration from late August to late November. Pets are not permitted. Open daily 8am-5pm, day after Labor Day-Thanksgiving; 9am-5pm the rest of the year.
