The purpose of LCHS is to discover, collect, preserve, and interpret the prehistorical, historical, and cultural heritage of north central Pennsylvania. Visitors to the museum will discover the American frontier epic in northcentral Pennyslvania; learn how the lumber industry turned Williamsport into a city of millionaires; explore the Native American presence in the Valley; and marvel at the outstanding Shempp collection of model trains.
