Stoy Museum & Hauck Memorial Library

Contains such reconstructed rooms as a drugstore, doctor's office, one-room schoolhouse, toy shop and general store as well as exhibits about early industries and crafts. The front part of the building, constructed in 1773 as a house, was later used as the county courthouse, where James Buchanan, the 15th US president, practiced law as a young attorney. Guided tours are available. Museum and library open Tuesday-Wednesday and Friday 12:30-4:30pm, Thursday 10am-4:30pm, Sunday 1-4:30pm, Monday 1-8pm; closed holidays and Sunday-Monday of holiday weekends. Last tour begins 1 1/2 hours before closing.
