Jones Gap State Park was named for pioneer Solomon Jones. It is located in the 10,000-acre Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, and encompasses the Middle Saluda River. In addition, the park is an access point to the Foothills Hiking Trail. Over 400 species of flora including rare and endangered plants are also found here. The park's Environmental Education Center offers nature exhibits and a lab area. Picnicking, an early fish hatchery, interpretive center, and the trail head for the Jones Gap Trail are also available.
