Summerville

Summerville is located in Dorchester County near the Cooper River. A town near Interstate 26, northwest of Charleston.

There are lots of things to see and do in Summerville and Dorchester County for visitors and residents alike. Choices range from historic plantations, parks to year-round golfing, a seasonal farmer's market and a speedway for race fans. Summerville is home to the Summerville Raceway, a major tourist attraction in the area. There are many outdoor activities to be had from horseback riding to kayak tours.

Summerville, like most of the towns in South Carolina, has a rich history and is steeped in tradition dating back to the colonization of the United States. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about the area through tours and trips to the local museum and historic buildings.
