Preserving, Interpreting, and Disseminating the Heritage of Codington County. This is primarily fulfilled by the operation of the Codington County Heritage Museum in Watertown, with its exhibits, programs, and object archival, and photographic collections.

Founded in 1974, The Codington County Historical Society exists to bridge this historical gap.
