The Oscar Howe Art Center welcomes visitors from all cultures all around the world to a place of imagination. Experience the traditional and contemporary arts of the Northern Plains in a soothing and peaceful atmosphere. The permanent Oscar Howe collection consists of paintings by the legendary Oscar Howe, the paintings that depict the spirit and pride of his people.

Visit the three galleries of changing exhibitions which reflect life on the Great Plains today. Under the beautifully restored historic building's mural dome, these elements combine to speak from our hearts to our thousands of visitors each year.

The Oscar Howe Art Center is under the local authority of the Mitchell Area Arts Council / Oscar Howe Art Center and is open year round.
