Welcome to the Newell Museum. Our museum displays are educational, interesting, historical and unique pertaining to early area settlers and businesses in eastern Butte County.

A representative display of fossils that were rich in the vast ocean that once covered the prairie can be viewed. The Newell Museum also features the Margaret Rich Collection. This is a featured collection of dolls, Indian artifacts, fine china, furniture, and other priceless antiques. See also memorabilia from LT. Col. George Armstrong Custer and the 1874 Black Hills Expedition from their expedition march as it passed near Newell.

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Sturgis SD August5-11 Since 1938, Sturgis has welcomed motorcycle enthusiasts from across the United States and around the world to the annual Motorcycle Rally. Based out of this small community in the northern Black Hills, the Rally officially runs for seven days every August.
