Search Dalyan

Dalyan's natural and human environment, including rivers and the sea, wildlife, history and culture, is enhanced by the welcoming local people.

Set against a backdrop of mountains, Dalyan is situated on a river and surrounded by verdant fields. The summertime weather in Dalyan is hot and arid, but numerous area rivers, fed by underground springs, never dry up.

Dalyan boasts an extensive array of wildlife, including bird species unique to the area. Rare Caretta Caretta turtles come home to a two-mile beach that is accessible by a brief boat trip.

The ancient city of Caunos, on the opposite side of the river from Dalyan, is one of Turkey's principal archaeological digs. Only a portion of the city has been revealed so far. More artifacts are found with each passing year.
