Black Gap Wildlife Management Area

A hundred thousand acres are devoted to management study of native wildlife. Visitors are welcome, although formal tours are not available. Species include bobcat, mule deer, pronghorn antelope and reintroduced desert bighorn sheep. Permit hunting and fishing in Rio Grande is allowed at specified times. A camping area is provided for authorized hunters and fishermen only.
