Three square blocks in the heart of old downtown centering around the 1896 Ginocchio Hotel, one of the state's prime examples of victorian architecture with magnificent interior woodwork and detail work where meny Texas notables lodged and dined at Washington at T&P depot. Another feature of the district is the Allen House, c.1877, with upstairs and downstairs verandas fronting the house, typical of period Texas architecture.
