Hermann Park is a wooded 440-acre area off North MacGregor Way opposite Rice University. The park, in the heart of Houston's museum district, contains an equestrian statue of Gen. Sam Houston and a miniature train. Facilities exist for golf, baseball, picnicking, bicycling, hiking, horseback riding and tennis; pedal boats also are available at Hermann Lake. There is entertainment in Miller Outdoor Theatre from Easter though October.
