Established in 1878, Prairie View A&M University is part of the Texas A&M University System. Its more than 4000 full-time undergraduates receive instruction in a wide variety of disciplines at the 1440-acre campus. The great majority of students are from Texas. Some belong to fraternities and sororities. The sports program includes intercollegiate sports for both men and women, as well as intramurals.
