This Reunion area was a settlement of French emigrants in the 19th-century. The 50-story tower is topped by a three-level geodesic sphere that houses a restaurant, observation deck and revolving lounge. The tower is illuminated at night.

The elevator trip to the top takes 68 seconds and the structure weighs 23,600 tons. It takes 55 minutes for the restaurant to revolve once.
