Covers 70 acres in the park, approximately 3,400 animals represent 700 species. Noteworthy are endangered whooping cranes; sea lions, which give behavior demonstrations; Komodo dragons; the denizens of Monkey Island; and bears in barless pits.
An African water hole is home to ostriches, zebras, giraffes, cranes, ducks, gazelles and antelopes. Marmosets, sloths, anteaters, toucans and jaguars are among the inhabitants of tropical Amazonia. Such unusal bird species as the red-billed leiothrix, quetzal, lesser green broadbill and Egyptain plover interact in a glass-domed aviary. A wide range of amphibians inhabit The Pad.
A childrens petting zoo also offers boat and elephant rides for a fee on weekends.
