Davis County Library, serving an area of 220,000 residents, has a collection of 400,000 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 14,700 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 6,600 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Internet terminals are available for use by the general public.

Staffing consists of 56 employees, of whom 5 are fully accredited librarians, plus volunteers. The system comprises one central library and 3 branch libraries, plus one bookmobile. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $630,000. Patrons make 690,000 visits annually, and check out materials 1,540,000 times. Fifty-two percent of all check-outs are children's materials.

Malad Valley Welsh Festival Malad City ID June28-July1 Today, Malad Valley has the largest per capita concentration of people of Welsh ancestry outside the country of Wales itself. For that reason, many residents of the Valley wanted to reestablish their Welsh roots. In 2005, after a 90 year break, this annual cultural event, now called the Malad Valley Welsh Festival, once again became a reality.
