Shirley Ririe and Joan Woodbury founded Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company in 1964. The company has become a Utah institution and is recognized as a successful modern dance company combining formal performances and community residencies. They tour domes locally and abroad; the company once performed a benefit fundraiser for the 70,000 Bosnian war refugees who were seeking shelter in 53 collection centers in Slovenia.

This school teaches more than just dancing it also teaches self esteem.

For that reason, many residents of the Valley wanted to reestablish their Welsh roots. In 2005, after a 90 year break, this annual cultural event, now called the Malad Valley Welsh Festival, once again became a reality.
