The museum is housed in Harrison School -- the first public high school for blacks in southwestern Virginia. Displays include artifacts and memorabilia that preserve and interpret African-American heritage in southwestern Virginia as well as art exhibits featuring local, regional and national artists. Events take place throughout the year. Open Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm, Saturday & Sunday 1-5pm; closed holidays. Admission is free to the public.
