Tours originate at the tour office north of Gate 5 and include the Naval Station, Naval Air Station, submarine piers and the waterfront area. The 45-minute bus trips of the base, home port to more than 100 ships of the Atlantic fleet, are narrated by Navy personnel. Tour departure times will vary according to season. Designated ships are open to visitors Saturday & Sunday 1-4:30pm; on some national holidays aircraft carriers are open to the public. Weekend ship tours are free.
